A few reminders about booking fall sessions......

This is SO important for everyone to read!  As the mini session slots fill up, please remember that there are times available for REGULAR sessions as opposed to mini sessions but they are extremely limited.  If you are on a yearly plan and want to use one of your sessions for the holidays, you must get with me asap to secure one of these slots.  I will not remember to "save" you one.  Jackson area people this is super important for you guys to remember.  I will most likely add just one day over the week of Thanksgiving for makeup minis for people who get rained out, etc.  I will be posting some card samples and pricing soon - probably 1st/2nd week of September - before the minis start.  There will be many from years past along with a few new designs.  Remember that you have the option of buying the digital download and making your own fabulous holiday card as well!  If you have signed up for a mini session or fall session you MUST PAY YOUR FEE to hold your spot.  No exceptions.  There are already two days completely booked and I will be starting waiting lists soon.  You will not get to keep your spot if you do not pay.  I have been working on updating the site and taking down all the old galleries from years past.  This is a tedious and slow process so please bare with me.  If you have trouble finding your recent galleries, they should be in ABC order now and it should be easier.  If you have trouble with your password, just let me know.  Texting me is almost always the quickest way to reach me - 601-260-5069.  And finally, thank you all for trusting me with your family pictures!!  I can't tell you how happy it makes me to have my regulars sign up year after year for minis!  love love love that!!!  You guys are the BEST!

ARCHIVE GALLERY SALE! PLEASE READ!!!!!!!!!!!

This June-July I will be cleaning out the website and taking down ALL galleries that were done before 2013.  If you would like to purchase the rights/digitals to any of these old galleries they are available for only $100.  Once they are off the site, there will be a $50 reloading fee.  The site has gotten so bogged down and there are things on there from YEARS ago.  Need to get everything straight and ready for the fall crazy time now.  Speaking of FALL, I have a lot of fall mini session dates/locations posted here.  Get them while you can!!  For the next two weeks, I will be proofing and editing lemonade minis (SO CUTE!) and counting down the days before our first beach vacation of the summer.  I still have one slot available for Rosemary/Seacrest and one more for Orange Beach.  Let me know if you need beach pics this summer!  :)

Fall Minis....{THE HOLIDAY POST!}

I know, I know, it's SO early for this!!!  BUT, this post will become popular over the next few months and I want to be on top of it ~  I literally have one more day before all the kids are home for the summer and I'm excited and SCARED at the same time!  Just wanted to post a few things about fall minis and get some dates out there for all you planners!  I will not have as many October sessions this year due to some family trips, etc. so I will be doing a few more September and November sessions to compensate.  I will add to this list as the weeks go by and I have more information finalized.  Again, as always, if you're on a plan, it is wise to talk to me over the summer about your next few sessions.  I will no longer be taking anymore yearly/newborn/maternity plan clients in the Jackson area.  I will strictly be going to regular sessions and mini sessions for that area. If you book for September and we have a rain out I will move you to a rain out date or to another empty mini slot later in the season.  I always start with booking on Sundays during the holidays so keep that in mind when looking at the times available.  And, please text me or email me with any questions!  601-260-5069 or mauri@maurihartphotography.com

As far as theming goes for my holiday minis, we won't use much aside from perhaps some cute chalkboards with the year or things like "FAMILY" or "JOY" buntings or for the Hernando sessions some cute chairs/benches.  Canton has plenty of seating options so I generally don't bring a lot there.

FAIR Sessions!

New this year, I'll be offering sessions at the MidSouth fair in Southaven and also the MS State fair in Jackson.  These will be limited and considered "special" sessions, NOT mini sessions.   Info ~

~ Session fee ~ $100
~ Any cost to enter the fair is paid by the customer (generally getting in on a weekday before 2pm is free admission)
~ Sessions will last for 30 minutes
~ You will receive a $25 credit to be used on prints or digital orders of $125 or MORE
~ Only weekday, mid-day times are available due to crowds, etc.

The next few weeks and months {scheduling INFO}

As I try my hardest to get everyone's Easter pics up, I'm also busy trying to get a schedule set for early summer.  This is most important for all my central MS peeps.  I know it helps to know WHEN I'll be in town when you are trying to decide on times for photo shoots......

Right now ~

April 13th ~ I will be in Madison and will be available for a very limited number of regular sessions.  Please get with me ASAP if you would like to schedule.  Much of the day has already been claimed.

May 4th/May 5th ~ I will be shooting regular session on the afternoon of the 4th and the morning of the 5th.  I could possibly do a few on the afternoon of the 3rd if needed.

May 25th ~ I will be shooting that morning regular sessions in the Lake Caroline area.

May 28th ~ I will be shooting that morning regular sessions in the Lake Caroline area.

May 31st/June 1st ~ I will be having a Lemonade Stand Mini day.  Session times will be announced soon so stay tuned!!

More dates to be added soon!  Please touch base with me if you need on the calendar.  It will be much more challenging to schedule at the last minute.

The Weather and Southaven Bunny Pics...

Oh my, the weather in Southaven is such a bummer these days.  Can we have just a little sunshine on one of my mini weekends.  I'm making a mental note for next year to schedule Easter/Spring pics in April as opposed to March!

That being said, I still plan on shooting on Sunday at my house.  The address is:

It is supposed to rain all day tomorrow and be cold and very windy on Sunday.  Sigh.  That definitely presents challenges but I think I've found a corner we can use in the yard that will be cute and we can get to it without the use of a boat.

Now, if you feel that all these things sound awful and you do not want to dress your babies up in their Easter frocks and romp around in the muddy wetness, I UNDERSTAND.  And, there are options.  I can move your shoot to a weekday this week and you can still have bunnies in your pictures (the bunnies are returning to their Jackson home on Good Friday).  I will have some morning and after school times available.  Just text me if this sounds appealing to you.  If bunnies are not something that you HAVE TO HAVE I can move your shoot to the weekend after Easter or even the weekend after that.   Maybe spring will have arrived at that point.

New Poll and other stuff {so fun}

Thinking about the summer season that is looming, I want to do some FUN themed mini sessions in Southaven (DeSoto County) and also down in Jackson, Madison, Brandon.  I have added a poll to the right to let you guys vote for your favorite themes.  Can't wait to get some dates for these and start working on the props.

ALSO, for the rest of March and April - if you sign up for a Newborn or Maternity plan you will receive a complimentary 11x14 at the end of your plan!  Share with your friends!  I have a great studio space set up at our house in Southaven now and I'm ready to go big with the babies in DeSoto County!!  :)

Booking Spring and Summer....

I just had a slight anxiety attack looking at the calendar.  My children will be out for Summer break in only 9 weeks.  Where in the world does the time go?  Summer seems to fly by faster and faster every year and then I'm staring the holiday season in the face.....

Easter sessions start this week.  I'm so excited for you to meet the bunnies we have.  They are precious.  Remember that having bunnies in your pictures is optional.  Some children may be scared and some children may be too young to handle the bunnies.  We will try to incorporate them in some way (baskets, carrot feeding, etc.) but please remember that the bunnies are animals and unpredictable and we really just have to go with the flow.  :)  Please try and be at your session about 10 minutes early.  That way we will be sure and stay on schedule.

If you did Santa pics, it's at the same location.  Please TEXT ME if you have problems finding.  601-260-5069.  And, remember it's a little haul out to Lake Caroline if you're coming from Flowood/Brandon.  Be sure and leave in plenty of time.

If you need plan sessions scheduled or if you want a regular family/child session in late spring, PLEASE book that now.  The calendar is already getting quite full and when my kids get out for summer break, it's even crazier.  I plan on doing two early summer mini sessions - Lemonade Stand minis like we did late last summer and also in honor of Leland's 5th birthday, a super hero/princess mini day as well.  I will do these in late May or early June.   Be on the lookout for more information.  ALSO, remember to sign up for beach sessions!  They won't last long.  Remember you can share the session with family members or friends.

I only book ONE beach session per day.  They are always done at the end of the day before sunset.  My beach session fee is $325 (plus tax) and includes up to one hour of shooting time and you are welcome to include extended family/friends in your portrait session.  With the session fee you get the digital gallery download with copyright release.  These time slots will NOT last long.  Half of the session fee is due at the time of booking to hold your spot.  The other half is due the week before the shoot.  You will be billed at two separate times from me and can pay via paypal.  If your deposit isn't paid your spot is NOT secure.

Oh wow, how I've truly enjoyed the holiday break with my family.  We spent the first part of the break in Madison, celebrating Christmas with our families.  Then we headed back to Southaven for some much needed family down time.  The kids, along with Fred and I, have been sick and all of that meant several pajama days with all of our new toys and treasures.  The kids are already back in school and I'm missing them so much but thankful to have some sort of routine back.  It always helps my work brain!!
