Weekly Holiday Update...

Thanks to everyone who has been contacting me about cards and orders. If you haven't received a response email from me yet, you will by the end of the weekend. I am still assembling cards and if you requested several samples, it may take longer to get posted to your gallery. Lots of orders were placed this week and should be ready for pick up tomorrow or early next week. If you placed an order that needed some kind of edit or change, it may take longer so contact me Monday and I'll give you an update.

All sessions done prior to today will be posted to the site by Sunday, November 21st. Keep checking daily, I'm adding as fast as my computer allows.

On a personal note, I have a child with strep and my day has gotten a little off and I'm a bit behind. I am still feeling more organized than past years or maybe I just know that I WILL GET THRU the rush and be okay. Thanks again for all of your patience. Remember that when you email me an order, you get put on a list and there are other people in front of you. This is the time of the year that I get many orders daily and it takes a while to weed thru them.

card assembling is going smooth. i still have a few more to get up tonight/tomorrow but i'm not too far past my deadline. i think i did make my proofing deadline so i was THRILLED about that. i've already starting proofing some delta minis and they look great. will start adding them tonight.

ORDERS - i said Wednesday for orders and i'm pushing that back to Friday. i will need time to unpack them and get them organized. please contact me on Thursday if you have an order that you are waiting on.

Proofs, Cards, Orders, OH MY!!!

Here's a run down -

If you have had a session prior to today (november 9th), you can expect to have your proofs posted by this weekend. If yours are NOT UP by Monday, please send me an email.

If you have requested a card design prior to today, it will be added to your gallery by Monday. If it is not added to your gallery by Monday at NOON, please send me an email.

If you have placed an order in the past few weeks it will be in middle of next week. If you haven't heard about an order that you've placed by next Wednesday (the 17th) please send me an email.

Please remember that there is one of me and lots and lots of you guys and I do get overwhelmed during this time of the year. I need your patience and understanding. I WILL get it all done and you WILL have your pictures and cards in time.


If you do not want to wait around on me to put a card together for you, you have an OPTION, buy a digital file for $50 to use in a card from wherever you like. This is a great option and puts the control in your hands.

This weekend is the last weekend for back-to-back shoots - I am heading to the Delta. The exact location is:

DELTA MINIS

Weekend of November 13/14th - the location will be out near Indianola at Cassie Rose Hardin's house. She has an old shack/house on her property and that is where we will be shooting. I will bring some chairs and other props. I'm EXCITED about it!!!

Card Samples

New samples here along with some tried and true oldies from past years.......I will add one more set before the end of September (tomorrow!) and that will be it.

HOLIDAY MADNESS!!!!! :)

Weekend time slots are completely full for mini sessions. I am almost completely full for regular sessions as well. I have a few time slots available on October 9th and a few available on November 6th right now. I also can shoot on Friday afternoons and have October 29th open and November 5th. If you are on a yearly plan DO NOT WAIT to sign up for a holiday time slot. I have set up certain times this year and once they are all full, that is it. I will not take any more.

HALLOWEEN mini mini -

As I was decorating for halloween this past weekend, I realized that my FAVORITE thing about Halloween is looking at all the adorable framed pictures I have of my children in their costumes over the years. We have one from every year and each year the collection grows. I cherish those pictures so much! October 31st is a Sunday and I'm not sure if that is Trick or Treat day or not, but I want to offer you a quick chance to come by and have a little memory captured of your little ones!

Here's the plan -

I will be at the Laurelwood Clubhouse from 3-5pm with some pumpkins and hay and maybe a cute bench and some mums. :) Bring your little one by before ToTing and have a picture made. I will also have suckers and candy for their buckets.

COST - $20 and you get a set of 4-5 proofs (size 4x6)

This is not a fancy session and will be come and go. You don't have to have a certain time slot, but I need to know how many people will be coming so let me know over the next few days if this is something you plan on attending. I don't want it to get too crazy and need to know how many to plan for.

Farm WEEKEND!!!

Thank goodness fall has arrived! Just in time for the first holiday sessions of the season. I'm excited and anxious to get going out at the cricket farm. Big thanks to the Hardy family for allowing me to use their place.

A few notes - I will have several spots set up for us to rotate thru during the day. Lighting will determine what spots are best at the time of your shoot. Clothing - lots of questions about clothing - think FALL and layers and hats and boots. I want these photos to be playful and natural and your kids will be happier in comfy outfits. There will be plenty of time for each session so plan to do a family session if you want. I'm going to TRY and have a laptop there for us to view your pictures the last 15 minutes of your session and we will pick your top 5-10 faves. I'm also going to have a big board with card samples so you can pick your faves for me to work up a perfect card for you!!

Fall SPECIAL weekend.....October 1, 2, 3rd

I am offering one last weekend as a "special" session weekend. This weekend is NOT a mini session weekend. It is just a special location shoot that will feature a discounted session fee. There will be NO print credits with this session. Here's the details:

This is a very awesome location that I'm getting to use this season. Hopefully I will be able to use again, but I don't want to wear out my welcome! We will be able to use tractors, an old school bus, several old vehicles and some old furniture out in an open field. There are lots of options and this is why I'm not offering this location as a mini session weekend. MINIS Delta Sessions....

I will be adding a mini session morning and afternoon for the Delta. The dates will be Saturday morning, November 13th and Sunday afternoon, November 14th. These will be just like my normal Jackson minis and will follow the same guidelines. I am working on the location. Spots will be limited! Times are as follows...

For customers who are on plans and/or want full session times, I will have Saturday slots available and every Friday morning I will be shooting in Madison at Wright's Mill. I will save other weekday mornings for newborns and in-home baby clients. I will post locations for Saturdays soon - I am waiting until I see all the football schedules. ;)

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, contact me ASAP for a time slot. These go fast and every single year I have people who wait until the last minute and don't get in. Please don't do that! Plan ahead.

Summer is ENDING!! Holidays around the corner! SALE!!!!!

So the summer contest really never got going. Basically, I got swamped with life. My kids are super precious and full of lots of energy and I decided to spend all my extra time and energy with them. We visited Sandestin and Rosemary Beach this summer and had fabulous times! The kids are still talking about their two beach vacations. We had plans to be at Orange Beach this week but those were cancelled after the oil situation and other things that just happened to come up.

To make up for the lack of the contest, I'm going to run a sale for all blog people that order and mention the code "SUMMER" in their order. If you do that you get 20% off your order. No other discounts apply with this sale so you can't combine a plan discount with a sale discount. Sale will run thru August.

Mini session dates and locations will be up this week. I will run 3 mini sessions during the fall. They will all be on Sunday afternoons. They will be 20-30 minute sessions and will cost $50. With the mini session fee you will receive a $25 print credit on your order and the print credit MUST be used by November 30th, 2010. After that, it is VOID. Mini sessions will be in October and if any are added, they will be in early November.

Christmas cards this year.....I will have about 60-70 (NEW) pre designed cards for the holidays and they will all be viewable here and on my website. I will NOT be designing custom cards this year. I hope to have a large enough selecetion to satisfy all tastes. Time makes it hard to custom design something unique for every client. I hope that you all understand and I look forward to showing you the great new card collection I will be offering this holiday season!!

Looking for location suggestions for the minis.......I will for sure do a Canton session and a Natchez Trace session. Need one more?? Anyone have any fabulous idea? Maybe something with a barn or old truck? Would LOVE an old truck for kids to sit on.

Spring sessions are going great! All the locations are fabulous and all the kids and families are doing awesome! Can't wait to get the most recent reunion pics up. Working on them right now. I will be doing more mini sessions this weekend out near Puckett. I have a few slots left so if you are interested just call me or email me. I would love to put your name down on the calendar!

Also, effective immediately, prints will now be ordered without texture finish. I personally like them better that way and so do most of my customers. IF you are super pro textured prints just let me know before I order. I can get that for you. I will try and ask all my old customers before ordering just to make sure.

On a personal family note - my kids are SO busy with their extracurricular activities!! Walker's doing cheer and Bry's heavy in baseball and piano right now. God help us when Leland decides to get involved! With all that being said, the weekends are busy with not just picture sessions, but kid activities so please email me asap if you need to get on the calendar for an upcoming session or plan shoot.

I plan on doing my senior rep sessions on April 25th. Could use one or two other kids to come along for that. It's a free session - just show up and have fun!

Mini sessions have been going great! Proofing is slow though and I ask that you be patient with me. We had spring break and Leland and I have been sick since Friday. It's been miserable! Catching up now, but even a few days off after a mini session weekend and it's hard getting back on track.

I will be opening up Good Friday as an extra mini day. I already have several people booked that day so if you are interested, please let me know.

Directions to "Day in the Country"

Drove out to the location of "day in the country" today and took notes for you guys.

If you have a GPS system, put in Fletcher Road, Brandon, MS.

Here's the specifics though.....

Take I20 East toward Brandon. Take the Hwy 18/Puckett exit (there at the Home Depot).

Go 17.8 miles down hwy 18.

You will have passed a little sign that says "Johns", two churches (one of which is being renovated) and a couple of little gas stations.

You will come to Fletcher Road. Take a right.

Stay on Fletcher Road for 1.4 miles. You will come to a T and have to turn. Turn right.

Take a left at LakeSpringwater Hunting Club (there's a sign, and a little fence). Go down a long long drive until you see the white house. I may be out near the road/drive so just keep a look out. I think we will use the big porch on the house for most sessions, but we may use the pretty trees/old shed for some as well. I am bringing lots of wooden chairs, a tricycle and a rocking airplane. Should be fun and there were a few little flowers close to the house. YAY!!

housekeeping....

Congrats to all the winners of the contest!! Your prizes will be in the week of spring break. Right now, I'm working on getting all recent orders put into the system. Remember that if you have edits with your order it will take longer to get the pictures in. I'm hoping to have all recent orders in and ready for pickup by Saturday.

mini sessions - had a GREAT day at Reunion yesterday. What a beautiful place to go for pictures. All the kids did great and I can't wait to get some samples up for you. This Saturday, the 13th, will be the first "Day in the Country" at the Rushing family's land outside of Brandon. I will post directions later in the week here and on my facebook page. The day is almost full but I can fit in a 1pm, 1:30 and 2:30 - those times are always hard because it's naptime, but if you have older kids that don't need naps, let me know!!

With all the beach session requests. Thanks to all of you for your interest in Destin and Orange Beach for summer sessions. If you have booked a time slot, your $50 deposit will be due by March 31st. I will send reminders later.

We will be in Destin June 20 - 27th. I will take two clients each day. One early morning session (7am) and one late afternoon session (7pm). The late sessions will fill up QUICKLY! Please email me asap if you would like a slot. A $50 deposit will be required to hold your time slot. The remaining balance ($150) will be due on the day of your session. The total session fee ($200) includes a cd of all proofs in color and black and white along with a spiral bound proof book.

I will also be in Orange Beach Aug 1st - Aug 5th. Same as above - will take one morning and one evening each day.

SPECIAL NOTE - I am NOT doing bunny pictures this year. All spring mini sessions will be pretty outside sessions with lots of greenery and grass. Old chairs and other simple props may be used. You are WELCOME to bring easter baskets and dress children in Easter clothes. Days in the Country will be a lot of fun and we will have access to an old barn/shed and a really cool old white house with a big front porch along with a lake/pond area. There will hopefully be lots of wildflowers as well. Sessions will be 30 minutes long and will be $50/each.
